#2 HOW TO GET MORE FROM BUILDCENTRAL DATA

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM
JONATHAN KANE
VP, CLIENT SERVICES
BUILDCENTRAL, INC.

April 2, 2020We are committed to supporting our clients during these difficult days.

We are also proud of the role our data plays in developing new business and creating lasting relationships.

Just as our research team continues to move ahead tracking and updating projects daily, our client services team is still working hard to support your needs as well.

Whenever there is a challenge in business, or life in general, my advice is to maintain focus on building and maintaining relationships.

And with today’s business climate, one question we’ve consistently heard this past month is “How can we get more out of your database?”

Based on what our most successful clients have done for the past 15 years, my #1 recommendation is to utilize the most vital aspect of our dataset – Company Reports.

By taking our project data one step further, our Company Reports feature provides a crucial data set with 3 major components:

Projects – Understanding the history of all projects, including those in planning through project completion.

People – People that we have verified as connected to projects in the company’s project pipeline.

Relationships – As I said before, these are the most important. Understanding the relationships a company has with other owners, developers, architects and contractors is crucial.

With these insights you are armed with all the pertinent details you need for productive introductory calls.

This ability to strike up new conversations based on mutual relationships can help you “break through” when your competitors cannot.

Our clients routinely express how much this helps them drive the relationships that drive future business.

Please watch the video tutorial below for a deeper dive.

Wishing you and your team all the best,

SALES TIP OF THE WEEK

Using Metrics to Manage Your Mindset

If you really want to win in times like these, it helps to get back to basics. With a renewed focus on achieving incremental goals, you’ll see better results and less frustration.

By focusing on incremental metrics, you’re in full control of your sales destiny.

First, do some calculations:

Do you know historically:

  • How many calls you need to get a live person on the phone?
  • How many of those conversations you need to get an appointment?
  • How many of those appointments you need to close a new deal?

If it takes 10 appointments to land a new deal, just focus on getting 10 appointments – not closing the deal.Keep it focused on the metrics and remove emotion from the equation.

The deals should take care of themselves.

MARKETING TIP OF THE WEEK

Use Joint Ventures to Find New Revenue

The times require a different approach to finding new streams of revenue.Consider partnering with other companies that share the same customers that you do.

For example, if you sell security systems to commercial buildings and you partner with a commercial cleaning company, there’s a strong chance that you share the same target audience.

Since you don’t compete with each other directly, you can both share referrals and make more money.

It’s a win-win and costs zero dollars to execute.

Review your list of contacts today and brainstorm about potential partners, including customers and vendors, ASAP.

The chances of finding a receptive audience are better now than ever…
