[2022] Top Senior Housing Architects in California

Using data from BuildCentral’s MultiFamilyData for planned senior housing projects with Q4 updates, we offer a rundown on some of the top senior housing architects in California for 2022.

With 2021 coming to a close, it’s time to look at year-end trends to catch up on planning for 2022. In analyzing Q4 senior living data from BuildCentral’s MultiFamilyData, two things become clear:

Firstly, senior housing is booming. As you can see in the Geospex screenshot below, nearly $24 billion in senior living projects is in planning within the last 90 days, as of 12/14/21.

Geospex heatmap of U.S. planned senior housing construction as of Q4 2021. The map displays nearly $24 billion in planned senior housing projects, per MultiFamilyData.

Secondly, that boom is concentrated in a few states, but none is seeing more action than California. Among the five states leading the country in senior housing projects in planning, The Golden State accounts for over 30 percent on its own.

These architecture firms are listed in order according to units in planning, per a query of BuildCentral’s MultiFamilyData for senior living projects updated within the last 90 days, as of 12/14/21. For each architect, we’ve included a sample project report from MultiFamilyData on one of each firm’s California-based senior housing projects in planning.
